Matthew 6:25-34
Amplified Bible
The Cure for Anxiety
25 “Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by worrying can add one [a]hour to [the length of] his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothes? See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin [wool to make clothing], 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is [cut and] thrown [as fuel] into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!31 Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ 32 For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
”Worry, oh how it robs us of so much valuable time.” -Octavia “Saint” Stevens
Why do we worry when we know that ultimately, we’re not the ones in control of our lives? one for absolute sure reason we do it, is that the enemy lures us into it due to our own personal weaknesses, he then feeds on our concerns, and our lack of faith. When we worry, we actually replace our faith, with fear. Jesus desires for us to be aware of how dangerous worry can actually be in the lives of a Christian, (or, anyone); the Bible actually speaks about the various issues with worrying about 365 times; so, this is actually like him telling us once a day for an entire year that we should not worry, and instead, we should place our trust in Him. The enemy easily tries to apply worry into our lives daily; even with the smallest minute situation or circumstance, such as, running out of milk and eggs and having such a jammed packed schedule that you can’t figure out when or how you’re going to replace them, or how about you’re running low on gas with only a few dollars left in the bank, and maxed out credit cards; and payday is two weeks away, or, what about an unplanned pregnancy while your deep in debt and behind on bills; or, what about your rebellious teen who begins gettin suspended from School for uncontrollable behavior, risking losing school fundings, grants and even scholarships, and now they have to be left home alone while, you, a single hard working parent has to work 2 jobs; and then while they are left alone, they begin hanging out in the streets with violent thugs and in time develop a drug habit? (unfortunately, these are all someones real life story). And guess who knows how to fix all of these situations? Jesus does, if we allow him to work through us, one step at at time.
Trust me, I’ve personally experienced, and witnessed over the years the devastations that worrying can bring, and no two people worry alike; some people panic, some break down, some shut down completely and need hospice care because they can’t seem to cope, and some just disappear from life completely, they become unreachable, they shell up and close themselves off which eventually can lead to depression. This is why we must understand that though the Bible tells us to worry not, it does not tell us to judge and condemn those who are worrying, and struggle with it in their day to day lives. It is actually very natural for us to worry, we are born into sin we we are birthed into this world, so we are fleshly beings who on any given day are encountering circumstances and situations we never have before, it is only through our personal growth in Jesus Christ that we are able to break the chains and the curse of worry and anxiety.
Here is another example of how worrying can develop in our lives, lets say that you wake up one morning, get dressed (as usual), and then head off to get your two young children dressed and ready for school. On the way to dropping them off at their KinderCare, you get into a head on collision, (so, what do you do naturally)? well, you panic, and then you immediately begin to worry.
“Are my children alright?” “Am I alright?” “Are the people in the other vehicle alright?” Yes!, we naturally begin to worry, but get this, according to scripture; its alright to not worry, in fact it is preferred by the creator of all living that we don’t allow the symptoms of worry to plague, destroy, and smother us, because the enemy will unapologetically use worry to rob us and steal our peace. Instead of worrying in a situation like this, we can choose to speak life instead! why not? are we more wrong for choosing to speak life than worry? No, we are not.
How about beginning by replacing words of worry, with words of faith. lets say;
“My children are alright in Jesus’ Name"!” “I am alright in Jesus’ Name!” “And the people in the other vehicle are alright as well! In Jesus’ Name!” Hallelujah! Amen! You see in doing small things like this, we are able to shift the atmosphere from panic to peace, we have the power to shift the atmosphere with words of faith, & when we do, we allow the Holy Ghost to come into the situation and work, instead of our anxiety and hostility. We can easily bring unrest and unnecessary tension into a situation, making it worst than it was when it began with just our words, and our reaction. Me personally, I would prefer all of the circumstances and situations if face on the daily, to be placed into the loving protective hands of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
(PERSONAL EXPERIENCE) I went through a situation where I was out of work for months, you see, working a 9-5 was how I was bringing in a steady income. Eventually, I had to pick up some odd jobs, and I was also blessed with unemployment compensation for a few months which eventually ran out; & now I had to figure out how I was going to get a steady income to cover my mounting monthly bills. I’d been on several interviews with various companies and I could not catch a break, yet; instead of panicking I grew closer to Jesus. I had just set it in my Spirit that I was not going to give into fear and began to speak words of life into my financial situation and into my employment situation, I took out my resume and prayed over it, I wrote scriptures of faith on it, and I didn’t allow the enemy to shake the ground of faith that I was standing on. I consciously chose to have peace that was unshakable, I knew if I just stood on faith that Yahshua the Messiah would take control and work it all out for the good of those who choose to believe in and on him. In my mature faith, I knew that Jesus was not a mere man, and that he was able to do above and beyond what I was even able to comprehend and understand, in time I didn’t even view money the same, it meant very little to me, my bills coming due didn’t shake my spirit, material possessions and the thought of them didn’t even budge me from my foundation of faith; I had found what my treasure was, it was a true and meaningful relationship with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, noting else mattered to me and this is still the same today. I am constantly reminded that we are not shielded from facing difficulties in our life, we are able to control how we allow them to affect us though, we must become strong and secure in our faith so that we are allowing Jesus to protect us from all the various trials, test and situations we face in this life.
Luke 12:24
Amplified Bible
24 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the crop]; they have no storehouse or barn, and yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than the birds!
I understood that Elohim, (No matter what the situation looked like) is the same Elohim who always provides and protects. I learned in my walk that the true provider is Yahshua the Messiah, He is the one who truly provides, and He is the one who also takes away. There are plenty of greedy, wicked and power hungry people out in this world who desire to kill the faith of a christian, they want to be the ones who control it all and they desire to be worshipped and praised instead of yahweh, these are those who follow after the ways of the evil one, they have no love in their hearts for others and they only desire to kill anything good inside of those who are pure and seek after holiness. the Wicked of this world will stop at nothing to have every believer just turn on Jesus and worship Satan. We must remain strong and rebuke all the works of Satan and his wicked demons, they only have the power and authority we allow them, if we don’t allow them any, they can’t do anything to us. AMEM! we are Safe In Jesus! FOREVER!
We must allow the Savior to order our steps to VICTORY and not to DEFEAT!
Now, lets be honest, as adults we are usually faced with some situations and circumstances that are just overwhelming, lets say for instance, a serious storm has destroyed your town, a deadly virus and or a pandemic has plagued your life, there are hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, riots, your house burns down, the unexpected death of a loved one, bankruptcy, credit card debt, loss of employment, divorce, disability etc; I could go on. The honest truth is that no matter what we face, Elohim is in control; and we are not alone, you see when we feel as if we don’t have much control, we actually have more than we realize; we have the POWER of YAHSHUA on our side, and he is willing and ready to fight every battle for us, IF WE LET HIM!
Worry only really causes us to panic and to be stressed, and when we are stressed and panicked we are liable to make mistakes that only make matters worse. The issue many Christians face is that they not understand why they have to go through things that are at times hard or difficult, (but, many people do, this is not just Christians.) I’ve personally heard Christians say, “Ive done all God has asked of me, I pray, I give, I live a peaceful life, why am I facing these hard times.” you see no one is exempt from suffering, it rains on us all, the just and the un-just, the saint and the sinner.
Matthew 5:45
Amplified Bible
45 so that you may [show yourselves to] be the children of your Father who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on those who are evil and on those who are good, and makes the rain fall on the righteous [those who are morally upright] and the unrighteous [the unrepentant, those who oppose Him].
Since we are the ones that are suppose to shine the light of Christ and lead by example this is extremely vital for us to understand as Christians, we are called to be representatives and we know that He is perfecting us because he loves us unconditionally, and this world will do all in its power to get us not to believe this. For wisdom and learning purposes I like to look to the book of Job because he was a righteous man of Elohim, yet he suffered terrible losses and unspeakable pain that many who’ve experienced something similar don’t survive.
Job 1:1-6
Amplified Bible
Job’s Character and Wealth
1 There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God [with reverence] and abstained from and turned away from evil [because he honored God]. 2 Seven sons and three daughters were born to him. 3 He also possessed 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke (pairs) of oxen, 500 female donkeys, and a very great number of servants, so that this man was the greatest [and wealthiest and most respected] of all the men of the east (northern Arabia). 4 His sons used to go [in turn] and feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send word and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 When the days of their feasting were over, Job would send [for them] and consecrate them, rising early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Job did this at all [such] times.
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God (angels) came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan (adversary, accuser) also came among them.
Job was a righteous man of Elohim who was tested and tempted and his story gives us a wonderful, dynamic, multi-dimensional example of the sufferings that a believer can face unexpectedly in life that they feel they didn’t deserve, & yet still, what do you do? Most of all, I respect Job’s authenticity, the way he expressed his true emotions and feelings about the circumstances and situations that he was enduring. it states in Job 3:1…..,
Job 3:1
Amplified Bible
Job’s Lament
3 After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.
He showed his true human emotions, He was frustrated, he was tire; and as this man was enduring some traumatic ordeals back to back to back; he clearly understood the Lord, Elohim, & no matter the loss he continued to serve his god with true dedication; he knew and loved his God, He knew that the God who had given him all of the beautiful things in his life, also had the authority to take them away from him, yet in-spite of it all, the good and the bad, the wins and the losses, the ups and yes, even the downs, Elohim should still be worshipped and praised.
Job 1:21
Amplified Bible
21 He said, “Naked (without possessions) I came [into this world] from my mother’s womb,
And naked I will return there.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
JOB UNDERSTOOD ELOHIM’S POWER..
“He spreads out the northern skies over empty space, He suspends the earth over nothing.” JOB 26:7
HE KNEW THAT ELOHIM WAS WISE, AND THE WISDOM THAT ONLY ELOHIM COULD GIVE WAS MORE PRECIOUS, AND MORE VALUABLE THAN ANYTHING THAT HE COULD EVER LOSE.
Job 28

Job Tells of Earth’s Treasures
“Surely there is a mine for silver,
And a place where they refine gold.
2
“Iron is taken out of the earth,
And copper is smelted from the stone ore.
3
“Man puts an end to darkness [by bringing in a light],
And to the farthest bounds he searches out
The rock buried in gloom and deep shadow.
4
“He breaks open (mine) shafts far away from where people live,
[In places] forgotten by the [human] foot;
They dangle [in the mines] and hang away from men.
5
“[As for] the earth, out of it comes food,
But underneath [its surface, down deep] it is turned over as fire.
6
“Its stones are the bed of sapphires;
It holds dust of gold.
7
“The path [deep within] no bird of prey knows,
And the falcon’s eye has not caught sight of it.
8
“The proud beasts [and their young] have not walked on it,
Nor has the fierce lion passed over it.
9
“Man puts his hand on [and tears apart] the flinty rock;
He overturns the mountains at the base [looking for treasure].
10
“He cuts out channels and passages among the rocks;
And his eye sees every precious thing.
11
“Man dams up the streams from flowing [so that they do not trickle into the mine],
And what is hidden he brings out to the light.
The Search for Wisdom Is Harder
12
“But where can wisdom be found?
And where is the place of understanding?
13
“Man does not know the value of it;
Nor is it found in the land of the living.
14
“The deep says, ‘It is not in me’;
And the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’
15
“It cannot be obtained for pure gold,
Nor can silver be weighed as its price.
16
“It cannot be valued in [terms of] the gold of Ophir,
In the precious onyx or beryl, or the sapphire.
17
“Gold and glass cannot equal wisdom,
Nor can it be exchanged for articles of fine gold.
18
“No mention of coral and crystal can be made;
For the possession of wisdom is even above [that of] rubies or pearls.
19
“The topaz of Ethiopia cannot compare with it,
Nor can it be valued in pure gold.
20
“From where then does wisdom come?
And where is the place of understanding?
21
“It is hidden from the eyes of all the living
And concealed from the birds of the heavens.
22
“Abaddon (the place of destruction) and Death say,
‘We have [only] heard a report of it with our ears.’
23
“God understands the way [to wisdom]
And He knows its place [for wisdom is with God alone].
24
“For He looks to the ends of the earth
And sees everything under the heavens.
25
“When He gave weight and pressure to the wind
And allotted the waters by measure,
26
When He made a limit for the rain
And a way for the thunderbolt,
27
Then He saw wisdom and declared it;
He established it and searched it out.
28
“But to man He said, ‘Behold, the reverential and worshipful fear of the Lord—that is wisdom;
And to depart from evil is understanding.’”
JOB KNEW, AND LOVED HIS CREATOR.
JOB 33:4; “The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the almighty gives me life.”
JOB 9:10; “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.”
JOB 42:2; “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”
JOB 12:13; “To God belongs wisdom and power; counsels and understanding are his.”
JOB 5:9; “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.”
This is why I personally believe; that if you are a wise Christian,who is mature in the faith, you must understand that it is truly inevitable that we shall face some form of troubles in this life; and, INSTANCES where we will be confused, upset, and even discouraged. The important thing in all of this is that we do not give up, and also most importantly; that we don’t forget who our God is.
